The Blue Planet Triptych
The Blue Planet is an example of the artist’s
glass castings. It displays her favourite techniques and treatment of colour.
The forms and figures are first sculpted in clay or
wax. The second stage consists of making
plaster and flint moulds for these figures and forms. When the moulds are ready
the wax or the clay are extracted and after cleaning the moulds pieces of
coloured glass are placed in the moulds and fired in the kiln up to about
800-centigrade degrees.
